Action Hero Akshay Kumar’s latest film “Airlift” is dominating the box office in overseas and domestic in its second week. The movie got lot of response from movie lovers and it earned positive response from cine critics. The film moves speed and it breaks the records in the way.”Airlift” became the first film of 2016 and fourth of Akshay’s to cross Rs 100 crore mark in India with its net total.
As per Industry experts comments “’Airlift’ had an attarctive first week run with business improvement over the weekend. It remains the first choice of moviegoers and is Akshay’s fourth film to have crossed Rs 100 crore after ‘Housefull 2’ (2012), ‘Rowdy Rathore’ (2012) and ‘Holiday’ (2014). The overseas collections have also been good.”
On its 10th day, the film reached a milestone by crossing Rs 100 crore (net) mark at the domestic box office, and now the film is set to achieve another milestone by crossing Rs 200 crore (gross) mark at the worldwide box office.
“Airlift” has so far collected Rs 185.63 crore from across the globe. The worldwide box office collection includes Rs 150.41 crore gross income (Rs 105.29 crore net) and overseas $ 5.18 million (Rs 35.23 crore). The film, which has a shelf life of minimum two weeks more, needs approximately Rs 15 crore to enter the double century club mark and it is likely that it will earn more than Rs 200 crore by the end of the second week.
While Rs 200 crore mark at the worldwide box office looks feasible, it remains to be seen if the film will achieve that mark at the domestic box office.
