Recently in Tamil Nadu state one of Muslim Organization issued by ruling on a point of Islamic law given by a recognized authority (fatwa) against yoga guru Ramdev’s Patanjali products.
The Muslim authority was reportedly issued that the Ramdev’s Patanjali products contain cow urine, which is considered haram in Islam.
Islamic Organization of Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamat (TNTJ) revealed that the yoga guru Ramdev’s Patanjali food products, cosmetics and medicines have cow urine as a key ingredient. This is a major part of the production process.
Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamat (TNTJ) recently explains that “According to the beliefs of Islamic religion, cow urine is haram and should not be used in food products. Therefore, the TNTJ issues afatwa that products of Patanjali are haram,”
Press Trust of India reported that the religious ruling was issued in order to expand awareness among Muslims about the ingredients of such products.
