CBI recovers 2 KG of gold from Revenue officer’s locker : CBI has declared to have recovered two kilograms of gold jewelers from one of the bank lockers of IRS (Internal Revenue Service) officer Sanjay Kumar against whom the agency has registered a disproportionate assets case.
The properties of Mr Kumar, a 1991 batch Internal Revenue Service officer who is posted as Chief Accounts Officer at Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), and the offices reportedly owned by his wife were searched by the CBI last week.
Latest updates are one of the CBI officials said “one of the bank lockers was opened on Monday and the agency sleuths recovered two kilograms of gold ornaments.”
During the last week, the CBI had claimed to have recovered property documents worth Rs. 19 crore, bank documents showing deposits of Rs. 74 lakh and one kg of gold jewelers. But Mr Kumar did not fructify and messages on his mobile were unanswered.
The CBI supposed Mr Kumar, Financial Advisor and Chief Administrative Officer at EPFO New Delhi, and his wife had gather Rs. 6.40 crore worth of assets during 2006-15.
One of the CBI Spokes person revealed that “It was alleged that the officer of EPFO had collect illegal assets in his name and that illegal property was belongs to one of his family number. It was further alleged that his wife abetted him in the offence by investing the money through the said firms.”
