Earlier there were rumors indicating that Bajaj Auto was working on an all-new commuter motorcycle for the Indian market. The rumors now have been confirmed with the set of spy shots. Though heavily camouflaged, the silhouette of the bike suggests that it will stand out from the lot of commuter motorcycles already on sales.
From the original publisher of the photographs, the new Bajaj motorcycle seems to have adopted cruiser styling with lower seat heights and low slung body chassis. The suspension mechanism duties are believed to be done by telescopic front fork and twin gas charged shock at the rear. Although the engine details of the new bike are unknown, the report suggests that it could be a 150cc mill.
It looks like the upcoming motorcycle receives design inspiration from the Avenger series of cruiser motorcycles and this could go on to become the most affordable cruiser bike in the market when it is launched by Bajaj. The rear suspension, chassis, wheel size and the rear profile of the motorcycle resembles the Avenger 150 whereas the headlight takes inspiration from the Pulsar series of bikes. Bajaj, However is neither confirming nor denying the fact that this is how the final model would look like, these design elements could have been attached to the test mule to confuse onlookers. What is clarified is that the new bike will look like no other in its segment.
The trial vehicle seems to be using a 17-inch alloy wheel with a 240 mm disc brake, a conventional telescopic fork, regular rear suspension mechanism with a pair of gas-charged coil over shocks on either side of the swing-arm, a 16-inch rear wheel and a 130 mm drum brake.
